The perfect Saturday. Up early, out to the shops to get the papers and then the whole day doing nothing. A bit of cricket on tv, a bit of moaning at Live8 and a bit of writing. Not as much writing as moaning at has-beens on stage though!
I’m quite cynical about Live8 and the motives of most of those taking part, which I suppose makes me a horrible person. 😉 I know the whole point of these concerts is to put pressure on the G8 nations to cancel African debt, but I’m not convinced that’s the only reason so many people are desperate to take part. I find the sight of people who either haven’t had a hit for years, or even no longer have a record deal, singing old songs a bit odd. What’s in it for them, I wonder … Increased back catalogue sales? Anyway, Pink Floyd will be worth watching in a few minutes. I hope!

I think you’re totally right about Live8. The cause is a noble one but these artists are just using the cause to line their pockets with record sales.
