Excuse me if I fall asleep

I have been watching England struggle to score against Azerbaijan and may struggle to reach the end of this entry …

Wednesday has been a good day, as far as this week has gone anyway. Monday finished off an eggless Easter, Tuesday was a day for washing and chores and Wednesday? Wednesday has been a day of rain, chatting with friends about nothing in particular and generally rotting away. Just the kind of day I love!

The football would have been a perfect end to the evening, but internationals are somewhat boring for me. Being a typical English football fan, I find it hard to be excited about my country or to cheer on the players of rival clubs when England play. I cannot be persuaded to see Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney as anything other than Man United players.

Even Ashley Cole stops being an Arsenal player when he pulls on that white shirt. Although getting used to thinking about him as «not Arsenal» is good preparation for next season I suppose!

I might have a yawn in a moment, but at least I stayed awake long enough to finish this entry …

Sven has formed a great team. I’m convinced that they will perfom very well in Germany in 2006!

Expectations also rose in Switzerland after the thrilling 0:0 against France in Paris last Saturday. Everybody calculated an easy win against Cyprus this Wednesday in Zurich (btw in the Hardturm, home of my Grasshoppers). But it was an ordeal, the team played uninspired, uncreative and was very surprised by the freshness and self-confindence of the opponent. It took us a lot of luck until Frei (you know him, the spitter!) scored a wonderful header in min 88. Final score 1:0!
