Scouse Saturday

Today was Scouser Day. I met up with Brige, who kindly came to visit me despite the wind! It was mostly a warm day, but as usual the wind made it feel chilly sometimes. But I don’t think it was too bad (at least, B didn’t moan – too much!)

We met just before 1pm and went to the cloisters at the Cathedral. It’s a nice, quiet and sunny spot where nobody bothers you. We talked for a while there, but I knew B was excited and wanted her present (I wanted mine too!) so we went somewhere even quieter to exchange gifts. The sun was out nearly all the time by now and it was much warmer. We found a quiet spot, sheltered from the wind by trees and I presented Brige with her Liverpool shirt, which has Baros 5 printed on the back. She was very happy with it and quite excited about it. It felt good to see her smiling and happy and then she made me smile too … with presents.

I was given a very nice knife from Spain with a wooden handle. It took me a while to work out how to get the blade back into the handle, which made me blush, but I love it. B also gave me some Gucci shower gel, which smelled great and will be used later. And then, as if that wasn’t enough, she also gave me chocolate. Perfect!

As we sat and talked and ate a small lunch the clouds came over and we were getting a bit cold, so we decided to go and have a cup of tea. We spotted a very fat grey squirrel, stuffing his face, on the way back to town.

Before too long, we were in the waiting room drinking tea and waiting for the train which would take Brige back to London. The day had gone by very fast, but it is a day I will remember for a long time. The day I met a Scouser!
